Just in case you may have spotted us, we were the silver car with everything packed in and on top of the car. You guys pulled in & my jaw just dropped. I frantically tugged at my husband's sleeve saying, "That will be us one day!!!!" Whilst my eyes bulged in wonder... I memorised the website and have been reading your website as & when I've had a chance, since getting home. What an inspiration you are!! Posted by Lauren Bowen on 12 January 2010 Thanks for looking. Hope you find the website of interest. We have really enjoyed the trip but unfortunatly everything comes to an end sometime and in Feb we ship back home. Posted by Sue on 25 December 2009 Hi Jackie and Bob, been following your travels with interest. Keep looking every few days to see if there is anything new. It all sounds absolutely wonderful. We have snow here - lots of it - at least 6 inches which of course stopped everything. Schools closed, chaos on the roads etc. More snow expected tonight and tomorrow and the chance of a white Christmas. Hope you have a great Christmas - will you be having a BBQ at the camp site? Take care and best wishes for 2010. Posted by Me on 14 September 2009 Interesting Hi guys, I saw your range around Nakawa in Kampala while I was on my way to Nairobi, Kenya(by the way, thats the correct spelling, not Kenia.)I dont knw what this trip is all about, but whatever the reason is, I think its great that you people tour africa. Nw please I advise you to explore more places by yourselves, other than relying on the information on the internet, some of which is very misleading. There is a lot to see in Uganda, Kenya, Tz, Rwanda and the other countries. Explore them and have fun, I hope you achieve your goal. I am from Uganda and I am volunteering to update your website for free coz I am an IT professional. And that place you talked about in Uganda, its actually JINJA, not JINGA. Posted by John Luke Tambiti on 10 September 2009 Thanks for the offer. We will correct the spelling. But sending it to you is no different to loading ourselves. Thanks for the offer anyway Posted by Bob on 12 September 2009 You are welcome back to Kenya Anytime HiBob and Jackie!!. Hope you are fairing ok. We met at the Camel Derby in Maralal in Kenya, and we were camping at the Yare camp same as you, and had a long chat about how you build up Sandy, and numerous queries from me, (am trying to jog your memory into recalling).I see your trip is as interesting as ever, and hope you are enjoying every little bit of it, and getting fresh reflections. Wishing you an enjoyable trip and for sure, I'll keep up with your updates.. Posted by Bedan on 21 August 2009 Thanks for taking the time to look at the web site. I hope it might be of help to you in your own journey. We had a great weekend, and will always have good memories of the people we met. LOL Sue and Mike Posted by Sue Soroczynski on 31 May 2009 Just had the most fantastic read of your adventures to date. Felt we were with you all the way. One thought that crossed our minds - a lot of 'foreign' camp sites don't appear to open until 1st of June, so some of your searches may be reduced as time goes on. But they then close again at the end of Sept!!! We're confined to Stilton for the time being while Pete recuperates so keep the diary going we love it !!! Keep safe and well. Joy & Pete Posted by Joy & Pete on 27 May 2009 Hi Jackie and Bob. Just been catching up with your blog. It is so exciting to read it, so god only knows what it must be like for you two. It sounds like you are having an amazing time even with all the hassles of corrupt policemen and visas and tickets for entry and leaving different countries. Can't wait to read the next blog. Stay safe, think of you often Jackie (got the 5 years ALL CLEAR), so no more hospital visits. Look after yourself. Good luck...Angela. We noticed you had the steering wheel on the other side and knew you were tourists. We remembered that you had a website address on your car so we were curious about who you were (who is Sandy? :) ). But I see Romania isn't on your proposed route...change of plans? Anyway, there was also an earthquake today (4 degrees on the Richter scale in Bucharest)! Did you feel it too? There haven't been many earthquakes around here in a while so it was pretty exciting. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck on your trip to Africa and I admire your courage and perseverance! Have a wonderful life! P.S. : In case you need a map for Bucharest, we always use salutbucuresti - you click on the word "harta". Posted by Michael Dominic on 28 August 2008 Pot pourri Hi Folks, Good luck in Sandy. I took a lot of flak when I bought my Disco a few months back.....please prove those non-believers wrong! We will see you here in Francistown. Happy travelling............ Mike - What's Prozak????? Posted by Mike Soroczynski on 23 August 2008 Crazy-rellies!!!!!! Well, you certainly are doing things in style! Think you must add few more things to the "need to bring" list. Blood and urine sample would be useful at most "official" point of entry...or maybe it just seems like that???!!!!! Also, I suggest taking prozac for three months before you leave, so that it has kicked-in by the time you hit Africa. Being "medicated" helps - believe me!!! good luck! cab see this is goign be one of my favourite daily sites. Posted by Sue and Mike Soroczynski on 23 August 2008 Road trip! Wow! I'm really looking forward to hearing about your adventures, guys. It's funny how we all went from Stilton to such far-flung places (he says, posting from deepest darkest Utah). The best of luck with your trip, I'll be following your tales with interest. And remember (where possible) to abide by the famous Internet saying: "pictures, or it didn't happen"!
