We were stopped at the Engen garage just before the Noordoewer border into SA on 2/02/10. Just in case you may have spotted us, we were the silver car with everything packed in and on top of the car. You guys pulled in & my jaw just dropped. I frantically tugged at my husband's sleeve saying, "That will be us one day!!!!" Whilst my eyes bulged in wonder... I memorised the website and have been reading your website as & when I've had a chance, since getting home. What an inspiration you are!!

Can't wait to see the photos of Swakop! Hope you remembered the peg for the nose at the seals. Could smell them from here!Thinking of you driving south. Have warned Vic of your immenant arrival! She leaves for USA on 20th.

Hi Jackie and Bob, been following your travels with interest. Keep looking every few days to see if there is anything new. It all sounds absolutely wonderful. We have snow here - lots of it - at least 6 inches which of course stopped everything. Schools closed, chaos on the roads etc. More snow expected tonight and tomorrow and the chance of a white Christmas. Hope you have a great Christmas - will you be having a BBQ at the camp site? Hi guys, I saw your range around Nakawa in Kampala while I was on my way to Nairobi, Kenya(by the way, thats the correct spelling, not Kenia.)I dont knw what this trip is all about, but whatever the reason is, I think its great that you people tour africa. Nw please I advise you to explore more places by yourselves, other than relying on the information on the internet, some of which is very misleading. There is a lot to see in Uganda, Kenya, Tz, Rwanda and the other countries. Explore them and have fun, I hope you achieve your goal.

Just had the most fantastic read of your adventures to date. Felt we were with you all the way. One thought that crossed our minds - a lot of 'foreign' camp sites don't appear to open until 1st of June, so some of your searches may be reduced as time goes on. But they then close again at the end of Sept!!!

Hi, we saw you driving on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard today! We noticed you had the steering wheel on the other side and knew you were tourists. We remembered that you had a website address on your car so we were curious about who you were (who is Sandy? :) ). But I see Romania isn't on your proposed route...change of plans? Anyway, there was also an earthquake today (4 degrees on the Richter scale in Bucharest)! Did you feel it too? There haven't been many earthquakes around here in a while so it was pretty exciting.
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck on your trip to Africa and I admire your courage and perseverance!

Well, you certainly are doing
things in style! Think you must add few more things to the "need to bring" list. Blood and urine sample would be useful at most "official" point of entry...or maybe it just seems like that???!!!!!
Also, I suggest taking prozac for three months before you leave, so that it has kicked-in by the time you hit Africa. Being "medicated" helps - believe me!!! good luck! cab see this is goign be one of my favourite daily sites.

Wow! I'm really looking forward to hearing about your adventures, guys. It's funny how we all went from Stilton to such far-flung places (he says, posting from deepest darkest Utah).
