Elephant Sanctuary

We visited an Elephant Sanctuary just outside Nairobi. This has been set up to care for elephants that have either been orphaned, or abandoned by their mothers. Some because of injury due to attacks by other animals who were looking for lunch and see the babies as the right size meal
The babies are allocated a keeper who looks after an individual elephant. He sleeps and feed it continually until it is released. Normally they go into a wildlife park as in the wild they would suffer and in the parks they can be watched and checked up on to ensure they are in good health.
